The number of British soldiers who have died in Afghanistan has reached 204. However, senior commanders say their soldiers are undeterred by the continuing violence.
Tony Philippson's son, 29-year-old Captain James Philippson from the 7th Parachute Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, was one of the first soldiers to die in Afghanistan in battle in 2006.
His father told BBC News "the fundamental reason for us being there just doesn't make any good sense."
