Police: 'No further investigation required'

Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner John Yates says that there is no new evidence to warrant further investigation into claims that a huge mobile phone hacking operation was launched by the News of the World.

It follows the jailing in 2007 of the paper's royal reporter Clive Goodman for hacking into the phones of members of the royal family's household.
