Britain's top counter-terrorism officer, Assistant Commissioner Bob Quick, has quit after admitting he could have jeopardised an operation which aimed to thwart a possible terror plot.
Raids in north-west England, in which 12 men were arrested, had to be carried out early because of the blunder.
Nasrullah Khan - a landlord in the Cheetham Hill area of Manchester where arrests were made - said he had not seen anything going on and had no idea why his tenants had been arrested.
