Graffiti was the only visible sign of Wednesday's demonstrations outside the Bank of England. Police said there had been 122 arrests related to the G20 protests over two days. Gardeners moved in and began to clear up damage to flower beds outside the Royal Exchange. But police maintained a strong presence as about 400 protesters converged on the financial district for a second day. About 100 people were caught up in a stand-off with police but the majority of demonstrations passed peacefully. By the end of the day a small pocket of protesters remained, enjoying their moment in the limelight. A few miles away, several hundred protesters gathered near the ExCel centre in the East End where the G20 summit was taking place. All pictures: Phil Coomes, BBC.
