The foreign Office has announced that British resident Binyam Mohamed will be released from Guantanamo Bay, "as soon as the practical arrangements can be made."
He has been held there for more than four years.
Clive Stafford Smith of the charity Reprieve which has represented some inmates in Guantanamo Bay told the BBC that the foreign office deserves some credit for securing Mr Mohamed's release.
But he also said that he believed there were very "troubling issues about torture" which could not be "swept under the rug" by Britain and the United States.
