'Broad' Tory support for Osborne

The Shadow Chief Secretary to the Treasury, Phillip Hammond, has said there is broad support for Mr Osborne in the party over his warnings of the risks in the government's approach.

Mr Hammond echoed Mr Osborne's claims that Gordon Brown's policies could bring about the collapse of the pound.
