The 36-year-old security worker says he was casually looking through some household bills when the freak weather event hit.

I was in my bedroom when I saw a strong, unusual light.

I opened the curtains wide and I could not believe what I was seeing - tables, chairs, books, bricks and other debris were swirling around my garden.

I even saw big umbrellas swirling around my garden.

In 16 years of living in London, I have never seen anything like this.

It was only because I watch a lot of films that I realised what it was.

Then all of the windows in my home shattered.

I went straight to my back door to try to get out of by home but when I opened the door I saw the twister and my door was blocked with debris.

It seemed to last only a minute - I did not have time to think.

Fortunately, Paula had gone to school with Adriano.

I am glad that we are all right.

When I finally walked outside, I saw houses in a worse state - debris everywhere.

Cars were damaged and the road was blocked with things.

I don't even know now whether our house is safe to go back to.

We have been staying in the church [police temporarily placed affected residents in Kensal Rise Methodist Church] but I don't know where my family will stay tonight.

We have only a few relatives here in London.

I never imagined something like this could happen in London.
