Transport for London is celebrating the 50-year anniversary of its direct recruitment scheme in the Caribbean. Thousands emigrated to Britain to begin a new life working on the buses and Tube after World War II.
Laurie Daniels came to the UK in the initial recruitment wave, first working as a bus conductor, then a driver and now as an inspector.
