Experts aim to curb the rising gun crime across the country |
Police officers from around the country are sharing ideas on tackling the rising incidence of gun crime with a two-day conference in West Yorkshire. The officers will hear lectures from gun control specialists who have flown in from America and Jamaica to the Bradford conference and the latest Home Office strategies will be set out.
The seminar, being held on Wednesday and Thursday, has been planned since the beginning of the year and is one of a package of measures being undertaken to address the rising levels of firearms crimes.
Along with firearms experts, community leaders across the country are discussing better ways of diffusing conflict and promoting better relations.
Home Office Minister Bob Ainsworth is set to reveal a new hardline stance on guns to be taken by the government and firearm amnesties will follow the seminar.
