Sony has cut the price of its PS3 gaming console to 299 Euros and £249 at gamescom in Cologne, Germany.
It has unveiled a slimmer version of the Playstation, which will replace the existing model.
The price tag is still substantially higher than Microsoft's rival Xbox system.
