Until now they still have not declared their borders - so they can acquire more land, by force if necessary.
The Israelis need to change their mindset completely, but the unlimited support they get from the United States means they don't have to.
Another problem is the lack of interest from Arab countries, they pay lip service to the issue.
Yet another problem is the split between the Palestinians.
Israel should recognise Hamas; it's a fact on the ground. You cannot ignore half the Palestinian people.
Who the hell are the US to say they don't accept them? And Europe follows like a little poodle.
Hamas should be part of the Palestinian delegation and [Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud] Abbas should be encouraged to include them.

Every Arab country should be there. Let's get the rejectionists in too - Syria.

No-one believes the US when it says it wants a Palestinian state.
As a first step, the US must demand that all settlements - apart from the ones agreed by Palestine - must go.
The US should declare its support for UN resolutions 242 and 338 - and an Israeli withdrawal to the 1967 borders.
The best thing Israel could do to improve the atmosphere is to get rid of the wall. Separating villagers from their fields is not likely to make friends for Israel.
Palestine is being chopped up into small bantustans - no way can it be a viable state.

I think the US should recognise the Israeli Palestinian issue is the biggest source of dissatisfaction in the Arab and Muslim world. It should also recognise that its pro-Israeli policies are actually harming the US.
Israel exists whether I like it or not, the question is whether it becomes part of the Middle East - or remains a colonial power implanted in the region.
