Hamid Karzai on Afghanistan security hopes

Afghan President Hamid Karzai has said his country "does not want to be a burden" on the international community, and he hopes his own forces will take over "in two to three years".

Speaking after talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel, he said he was "happy to hear" Germany's assistance would be "success-oriented, not timebound".
