Nato appoints new Afghan civilian representative

Nato has appointed a new civilian representative in Afghanistan with stronger powers to coordinate reconstruction and work closely with the military.

Germany has become the latest Nato country to announce it's sending more troops to Afghanistan.

Meanwhile, the UN has announced it's lifting sanctions on five former Taleban leaders.
