UN wants funds for peaceful Afghan areas

Despite the on-going conflict in Afghanistan, some parts of the country remain relatively peaceful - such as the central highlands of Bamiyan.

The UN is urging the world's biggest donors to focus attention on these provinces.

It says there is potential for development in places like Bamiyan, which is rich in minerals and a tourist goldmine.
