A Sri Lankan army commander says the military operation against the Tamil Tigers has been a success.
Brigadier Shavendra Silva claimed the Tamil Tigers will ''never bounce back'' and displayed weaponry captured from the rebel group.
Thousands of civilians are caught with the Tamil Tigers in a 12 sq km (5 sq m) area in the north of the country as the military closes in.
