The British government has decided against making forced marriage a criminal offence. Campaigners say the practice needs to be criminalised to send a stronger message to perpetrators.

At just 13, Sameem Ali was told by her mother that she was to marry a man twice her age.

She eventually fled the relationship and is now happily married with two grown up children.
