The Pakistani cricket authorities have banned their two most senior players from the national team for an indefinite period.
According to the Pakistani Cricket Board, the former captain and the team's leading batsman Mohammad Yousuf, will no longer be selected.
Officials said they had been involved in what they called "infighting" which contributed to the team's poor performances during a recent tour of Australia in which they failed to win a single match.
Nik Gowing spoke to Asif Iqbal, the former Pakistan cricket captain and selector.
The Hub with Nik Gowing is broadcast Monday to Fridays at 1600, 1630 and 1700 GMT on BBC World News. Find out more information about regional broadcast times here.
