Hello again... Denise, Louise and Liz with Cherie Blair |
What do women want? It's a perennial question because it is not easily answered. So we challenged three women - each of them Politics Show viewers - to find out. Last week you may have seen Denise, Louise and Liz talking to feminist campaigners and businessmen. They even got to speak to Cherie Blair! And this week they're back - with a "womens' manifesto for change" peeping out of their handbags. I've been granted a sneak preview and all I can say is - they're not happy at all. Not one little bit. Quite clearly, they feel that enough is not being done. And this week, they're taking their list of demands to the politicians themselves. They've already been to see the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats - administring a dressing down on everything from maternity leave to equal pay. Harriet Harman MP |
And on Sunday they'll meet Labour's Deputy Leader, Harriet Harman, live in the Politics Show studio. Ms Harman prides herself on her feminist credentials. But will it be enough for our team? I'll try not to get in the way. We'll also be meeting the man who single handedly defeated the Irish Government's plans to ratify the Treaty of Lisbon. His name is Declan Ganley and apparently we may be seeing more of him here in Britain. And as we go on air the Liberal Democrat leader, Nick Clegg, will be speaking to his party's big conference in Harrogate. His Deputy, Vince Cable, will try and sneak away and explain the latest thinking. See you at noon on Sunday
