Hello again - and this week...

Should you be able to sack your MP?

Honourable members have been under the spotlight recently.

There's been great consternation about their conduct, with questions being raised about their expenses and allowances, whether they should employ relatives, and who should adjudicate on such matters.

Some young(er) Conservative members think there should be some kind of "recall" mechanism, where constituents could vote on whether their MP should continue in the job if they've been found to have done wrong.

And Nick Clegg, the Lib Dem leader, has also jumped on the idea - although his front bench seem to be doing a good job of sacking themselves.

But could such a system ever work?

Critics say it would open MPs to malicious recalls, and would punish MPs who spoke their minds on controversial subjects.

Do you volunteer?

The government is keen that we all should, and one of Gordon's Goats (for new readers, that's government of all the talents, not furry quadrupeds), is the Lib Dem Baroness, Julia Neuberger.

He's tasked her with producing three reports on volunteering, and on the eve of the first, about volunteers in the health service, the Baroness will explain her mission to the Politics Show.

We will also hear from around England about volunteering in every aspect of our day-to-day lives.

Next Wednesday will be something of a political landmark - the first budget for 10 years not given by Gordon Brown.

We'll look ahead to the budget with the Lib Dem's Treasury Spokesman, Vince Cable.
