In the last few years the UK has had the largest influx of immigrants in its history. Our government has expected us to welcome all these new people with open arms, telling us how wonderful it is to have such a multicultural society with such a diverse range of races and religions. It's funny how the people who think mass immigration is so glorious never have to mix with any other race but their own.
Sarah Matthews, England
When we talk about integration difficulties, in my view the main issues are with Muslims. They have totally different values to us and the majority show no signs of wanting to integrate. In Oldham we live in parallel worlds. Other cultures, by and large, either integrate or dont present a challenge to the host culture. Without wishing to be overly dramatic I fear we will end up with a Balkan scenario.
Rob Bradley, England
Our Bradfordstan is the greatest place in the world, and will be untouchable after the regeneration.

Birds of a feather flock together. The truth of this very old saying is evident everywhere. We all want to live amongst others who share our cultural perspectives and views (and similar income levels, I suspect). You will always get posh areas and rough areas. Inhabitants of neither wish to live side by side with those of the other, because of differing sets of values and outlook. Twas ever thus. Its practically a Law of Physics!

Ministers created an atmosphere of demonisation against Muslims, these Ministers include Jack Straw, Phil Woolas, Hazel Blears, Bill Rammell, Ruth Kelly and others on issues from the veil, cohesion, multiculturalism etc. The attempts to focus on minor issues without tackling the biggest contributing factor to the threat to our country are part of a concerted effort to minimise the impact of UK foreign policy.

New Labour continues to be an oppressive force on all sectors of society. We can let them divide and conquer or we can organise and resist - together!
