Hello again...
This week all of Westminster has been sucked inexorably towards the political galaxy that is Gordon Brown.
On Wednesday, the Chancellor surprised almost everyone with a 2p cut in the basic rate of income tax in what will almost certainly be his last budget.
This followed hard on the heels of the astonishing remarks by Lord Turnbull, a former Permanent Secretary at the Treasury, who described Mr Brown as possessing a "sheer Stalinist ruthlessness".
Phew - who'd want to be deputy to a man with a management style like that?
Step forward, Alan Johnson, Education Secretary.
The likeable ex-postie turned cabinet minister is one of the front runners in the contest to be Labour's Deputy Leader.
Becky Milligan will be following a day in the life of Mr Johnson.
