UK PM Tony Blair says re-building Afghanistan must remain a priority but, for the troops on the ground, it is a mission fraught with danger.

Many war lords and fundamentalists have now been excluded from power and are suspicious of having foreign troops on Afghan soil.

As the paras struggle to bring peace to a country ravaged by war they face continuing violence, crime, food shortages and minefields.
