Since shortly after the terrorist attacks on the USA a Panorama team has been filming within the Muslim community in Birmingham. It has been given unique access to the Birmingham Central Mosque which boasts the largest prayer hall in Europe, with room for two and a half thousand faithful.

Vivian White reports on some militant reactions within the community to the military actions being carried out by the US and UK Governments. He hears from Muslims who have felt that they and their religion have been unjustly made the scapegoats for the September 11th atrocities.

Where do these Muslims now feel that their own loyalties lie? Panorama talks to leaders and to ordinary members of the Muslim community, to Muslim schoolchildren, and to Muslim charity workers.

Production Team:
Reporter Vivian White
Producer Stephen Scott
Assistant Producers Matthew Cooper & Nigel Morris
