The former Deputy Prime Minister, John Prescott, has criticised the Metropolitan police for its decision not to reinvestigate allegations of phone hacking by the News of the World.

He told the BBC's Newsnight that Assistant Commissioner, John Yates, had made a "quick" decision on the matter.
