The rules about paternity leave and pay, flexible working and the default retirement age have already changed this year.

In October, new regulations will give agency workers the same basic rights as employees, once they have satisfied a 12 week qualifying period.

A review of employment law is also being considered for redundancy consultation periods, tribunal discrimination awards, the protection of employees rights when business ownership changes and flexible working .
