Mishal Husain talks about Impact and her favourite interviewees
Mishal has been a face of BBC World News for the last 10 years, first as a business news presenter, and then on the main international news.
She is also well-known in the UK, where she presents BBC One's Sunday night Weekend News.
Mishal has been on a range of BBC programmes, including BBC Two's The Culture Show and other radio news and current affairs broadcasts. In 2007 she was paired up with rescue dog Robson for the "Underdogs" series on BBC Two.
More recently she has presented a three-part series on the life and legacy of Mahatma Gandhi, and a documentary on the British Museum's attempt to tell the history of the world through 100 objects in its collection.
Mishal helped to establish the BBC brand in the United States, as its first Washington-based presenter. Her nightly news programmes in 2002 and 2003 developed a strong following around the time of the Iraq war.
She is also known for presenting live on location for the BBC, including the Beijing Olympics, the assassination of Benazir Bhutto and Pakistan's 60th anniversary.
Her favourite interviewees include Paul McCartney, Paulo Coelho, Jung Chang and the Bollywood superstars Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor.
Mishal was born in the UK in 1973 but grew up in the Middle East.
