The former Marks & Spencer boss, Sir Stuart Rose, has said he is happy to pay extra tax while the UK is going through a difficult time.
Twenty high-profile economists have urged the British government to drop the top 50p tax rate for people earning over £150,000 a year - in a belief that a tax cut will stimulate growth.
But talking to HARDtalk's Sarah Montague, Sir Stuart said reducing the top rate of income tax is a "no-no".
