Film director Oliver Stone says America must learn to deal with the past rather than commit itself to reactionary wars in the present.
He told Stephen Sackur that he believes US foreign policies have been "erroneous" since World War II, and he is "hopeful" President Obama could bring about change.
The Oscar winning film director has just unveiled in Cannes his new movie sequel Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps - his controversial films are often fuelled by anger at US values, foreign policy and politics.
