At nearly 6,000 metres it is Africa's highest mountain. Yet in spite of the altitude, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania is not a complicated technical climb.

Good fitness and a streak of determination can be enough to make it to the top. And because of its accessibility, visitor numbers to the volcano have soared in recent years.
