Kirsti's mum has lung cancer |
"I'm 20 years old and I'm planning my mother's funeral," 20 year old Kirsti Endersby tells us in a shocking TV advert which will be shown today. The upsetting footage, which shows Kirsti in tears, is part of the government's latest campaign to get us to give up smoking.
Kirsti's mum is 43 and has had lung cancer for five years. She's already planning her funeral and where she'd like to be buried.
On Breakfast this morning, we found out why Kirsti and her mum Trudi decided to take part in the advert.
She told us how watching the progress of the disease in her mum had made her give up smoking herself - and how they'd had to explain what might happen to her youngest sister, who's only 11.
If you want to give up smoking, you don't have to go it alone. You can get support and advice from the NHS' Giving up Smoking team on 0800 169 0169 - or follow the links on the right hand side of this story.
