Some of the best known names in TV News have joined forces this year, to raise money for BBC Children in Need.

Huw Edwards, Sophie Raworth, Anna Ford and Dermot Murnaghan are among those who are giving up their time - and even some of their treasured possessions - to raise money for this year's appeal.

  • Online auction
For the first time ever, the BBC is running an online auction of TV news memorabilia. You can bid for Sophie Raworth's designer evening dress - or for the celebrity sofa used for Sir David Frost's top drawer guests.

  • Phone competition
There will also be a special phone competition every day until next Friday. To enter, call 09013 26 77 77. Calls cost 75p with 49p going to Children in Need. Lines are open from 6am to midnight.

The competition is being run across the whole of BBC TV News - and you'll be able to find out what the questions are each day on BBC Breakfast.

There are some fabulous prizes on offer over the week - including the chance to try your hand at TV presenting - and a day with the BBC News team.

Each day, we'll ask you a question - and if you know the answer, you should phone our competition line (don't e-mail us). Most of the money from each call will go to Children in Need (for full details, see below)
