Tell me more about George Alagiah's pen
George Alagiah's pen
George's favourite pen is a Lamy rollerball
The Six O'Clock News' George Alagiah is offering his favourite pen for our Children in Need Online auction.

It's a Lamy rollerball, with a distinctive frosted green barrel.

As well as the pen, we will also send you a signed photograph of George himself.

Formerly one of the BBC's most distinguished Foreign Correspondents, George Alagiah now presents the BBC's flagship Six O'Clock News.

The Sri Lankan-born journalist joined the BBC in 1989 and has reported on some of the world's biggest stories including the genocide in Rwanda and civil wars in Sierra Leone, Afghanistan and Liberia.

A well-placed mole in the newsroom has told us that George is so nervous about giving away his lucky pen that he has had to go out and buy another.

  • Bidding in our online auction has now closed. We will be contacting the successful bidders shortly to confirm their details
