After three weeks of intense fighting in Gaza, Palestinians have begun assessing the damage to homes and buildings.
The BBC's Paul Wood and cameraman Andrew Herbert are among the first journalists to gain independent access to Gaza from Israel.
They entered from the north at the Erez crossing and travelled to Gaza City.
