UN chief welcomes resolution

UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has welcomed the adoption of a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.

Mr Ban called the ceasefire the first step and said that dialogue was required to deliver "long term security and peace" in the region.
