The United Nations Security Council is meeting in New York to discuss the crisis in Gaza.

The Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, has told the UN Security Council that the most basic of human rights are being disregarded.

Referring to the latest incident in which at least 30 people were killed in an Israeli artillery attack in a UN school in the Jabaliya refugee camp, he said the school attack was "proof of the heinous crime being committed" against the people of Gaza.
