The City Chambers in Glasgow is being used as a giant screen for the projections marking the 250th anniversary of Robert Burns. (Projections by Ross Ashton) The light spectacular in George Square will be accompanied by music and narrative and will depict the life and times of the Scottish Bard. The projections, illustrating Burns songs and poems, are the work of artist Ross Ashton, whose mother was from Ayrshire. Pieces from one of the world's biggest Burns collections, held at the Mitchell Library in Glasgow, have been used for the illuminations. The projections run for 15 minutes and will be shown between 1730 and 2100 GMT on Saturday and Sunday.
