Win Gandy lives in Thropton in Northumberland but is safe from floods for the time being as she lives on a hillside. Some areas of the town have been particularly hard hit by the floods. John and Ruth were upset by the sight of ruined flowers as Morpeth was a finalist for the annual Britain in Bloom competition. Richard O'Connor took this picture of a small bridge swept away by flood waters in Shotley Bridge, Co Durham. Richard says he has seen plenty of other flood damage in the area.
