England floods: Your pictures

BBC News website readers have been sending in their pictures of flooding in England. Liam Quinn took this picture at 11am on Saturday in Morpeth, Northumberland.

The same street four hours later shows how quickly the water level has risen. Liam captured the difference in this picture taken from the safety of his bedroom window.

Lucy Yates crosses the ford at Wootton in Shropshire every day. She took this picture of a car trapped by the rising water on Saturday.

Brian Main took this picture of a windswept and flooded field on his way from Harbottle to Newcastle from a bridge in Rothbury.

Helen Walklett lives in Rothbury and sent in this picture of the river which has burst its banks. The village has been cut off by the floods and some houses have been evacuated.

The water level at River Cole ford in Birmingham has risen to four feet since the floods. Andy Forster came across this scene and guesses that the driver got stuck on Friday night.

The local brook in Slaithwaite, Huddersfield, overflowed as a result of heavy rain. Mike Weissenborn sent this photo of a flooded street, which now been cleared but is full of mud.

Rachel and John Hall came across this scene in Halesowen. The small river that runs through the town is a few miles long and the current on Saturday was very strong.

Jason Gambone lives opposite these flooded houses in Birmingham. Evacuation of the residents was impeded by the pressure of the water against the front doors.

Claire Hampson took this photo at Brompton Beck near Northallerton. The water level at the time of the photo stood at three foot and the beck was almost bursting its banks.
