Russian pop star Dima Bilan has won the 53rd Eurovision Song Contest in Belgrade with his intense ballad Believe. Greece's glamorous entrant Kalomira was among those who gave him a run for his money, eventually finishing third. Latvian group Pirates Of The Sea were among the acts who took a more light-hearted approach. Spain's entry, Rodolfo Chikilicuatre, sang a zanily catchy nonsense song Baila El Chiki Chiki. British fans flew the flag - but were disappointed at Andy Abrahams' last place. Sweden's Charlotte Perrelli, who won in 1999, failed to repeat her success this time. France chose the established if eccentric dance musician Sebastian Tellier, but he could only finish 19th. The event took place in the 20,000-capacity Belgrade Arena. The home nation finished sixth this year.
