Reporters, cameramen and photographers waited for hours outside London's High Court to hear the outcome of Heather Mills and Sir Paul McCartney's divorce settlement. Ms Mills told the media she had been awarded 24.3m and she was "very, very happy" with the decision. Sir Paul McCartney arrived with his legal team in the morning. The settlement will also see Sir Paul pay their four-year-old daughter Beatrice's nanny and school fees. The former Beatle married the former model and charity campaigner Mills, 40, in 2002 but they split four years later, blaming media intrusion into their private lives. Fiona Shackleton, Sir Paul's lawyer, seemed to emerge from court with wet hair. Ms Mills commented she had been "baptised in court" after making "unpleasant comments". Ms Mills said she would be appealing against the publication of the ruling on Tuesday morning because of concerns for the security of her daughter. Sir Paul waved to the waiting media outside the court as he was driven away. The 65-year-old did not comment on what he thought of the settlement. Outside court Ms Mills was flanked by police to make sure she was safe during her statement to the press.
