Jude Law braved heavy rain to attend the London premiere of his new film Sleuth, a remake of the 1972 thriller. Sir Michael Caine, who starred in the original film, also appears in the new version. Law steps into Sir Michael's original role, while the Get Carter star takes the part originally played by Sir Laurence Olivier. The film, a study of conflict and jealousy, is based on a play by Anthony Schaffer. Kenneth Branagh (left) directed it. Harold Pinter penned the script, his first screenplay in over 10 years. "There aren't any lines that are the same as the original," Sir Michael Caine said. Despite the rain, Law was happy to show off his new haircut to fans who had braved the conditions. Among celebrities at the premiere was musician Bill Wyman. Singer George Michael also attended the premiere, along with partner Kenny Goss. TV presenter and singer Cilla Black was another celebrity guest at the launch of the film, which opens on Friday.
