Jude Law stars opposite Michael Caine in his new film, Sleuth |
Actor Jude Law will not be prosecuted over allegations that he assaulted a photographer, he has said. The actor was arrested in September on suspicion of attacking a photographer and trying to grab his camera.
"The police have told me that they and the Crown Prosecution Service have examined the photographer's allegation extremely carefully," Law said.
They "made the decision that there is no further action to be taken". The CPS said no information was available.
Law has been on police bail since voluntarily going to a police station after the incident outside his west London home.
The Oscar-nominated actor added he was "delighted to have been vindicated".
The star, whose best-known films include The Talented Mr Ripley and Cold Mountain, stars opposite Michael Caine in his latest film Sleuth.
The movie, which was based on a screenplay by Harold Pinter, was directed by Kenneth Branagh and will be released in the UK on 23 November.
