The inquest into the deaths of Princess Diana and Dodi Al Fayed has seen CCTV footage of their last day together. Here, the couple walk across the lobby of the Ritz in Paris. Footage then shows Mr Al Fayed and Diana smiling in a lift in the late afternoon. Some of the hotel's CCTV cameras show inconsistent timings. Later, the couple tried to go out in Paris for dinner, but gave up because of intense paparazzi interest. On her return, Diana tries to hide her face from the flashbulbs. She is followed through the hotel's revolving doors by bodyguard Kes Wingfield. Diana and Mr Al Fayed eventually had dinner in their Imperial Suite away from prying eyes. Here Mr Al Fayed is seen returning to hotel. Earlier, he visited Repossi jewellers. The inquest will look at whether he and Diana were about to announce their engagement. Just after midnight, Diana and Mr Al Fayed are caught on camera holding hands as they wait to leave the hotel. During the two hours before the couple left, their driver Henri Paul made five separate visits out to the front, to Place Vendome, where hordes of paparazzi were waiting. He also went alone to the rear where he appeared to signal to other paparazzi. Diana raises her hand to shield her face from the paparazzi as she leaves the Ritz to get into a Mercedes limousine. Eventually the couple leave in the car at the rear. Diana's figure can be seen in the top right hand corner of the frame. The look on Mr Al Fayed's face in the vehicle contrasts with the relaxed scenes caught on CCTV inside the hotel. Shortly before the fatal crash, bodyguard Trevor Rees is seen sitting in the front beside driver Henri Paul. Diana can be seen in the back. Their car crashed in the Pont de l'Alma tunnel. Mr Al Fayed and Mr Paul were killed instantly. Diana died later in hospital. Police say Henri Paul was three times over the legal alcohol driving limit on the night of the crash.
