Warren confirms Tyson split

Frank Warren has admitted that he will not be promoting a Mike Tyson fight in the future.

Warren's admission comes after Tyson's farcical 38 second defeat of fellow American Lou Savarese on Saturday, a fight in which the former champion hit the referee.

The promotion, staged at Hampden Park in Glasgow, failed to attract a capacity crowd, with just 18,000 of 50,000 tickets sold.

The combination of Tyson's behaviour and the lack of success seem to have convinced the promoter to abandon any long term plans with the fighter.

"I don't think I will ever promote Mike Tyson again. There are a number of reasons why but I don't think I will do it," said Warren.

The British Boxing Board of Control is due to meet this week to decide what action it will take against Tyson for his post-bout outburst, when he threatened to rip out Lennox Lewis' heart and eat his children.

"I don't think we're going to get Mike Tyson coming back to this country for a disciplinary hearing," added Warren

"But that is something I am sure they will look at - they are a very responsible and respected governing body and I am sure they will make the right decision."
