WHO: "Surveillance has to be strong everywhere"

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has said it is important to maintain "alertness and surveillance" worldwide as swine flu continues to travel to a number of countries.

At a daily briefing, Dr Keiji Fukuda, deputy chief of the WHO, said that there was concern that the virus is heading towards the southern hemisphere.
