How to comment on Have Your Say

If you are not a registered user, you can optionally fill in the other fields that appear with the postform, such as your name, email and location, before previewing or submitting your comment.

Is there a limit to the length of my comment?

Normally, yes, but it can vary. If there is a limit to the length of comment for a discussion it will be clearly shown at the top of the postform.

What happens next?

If you are not a registered user, your comment will have to be checked by a Have Your Say moderator before it is published on the site.

Due to the large volume of comments that we receive, we can't guarantee that all comments submitted will be published on the site, but we try our best to publish as many as we can.

Reactively Moderated discussions

If you are a registered user, your comment will be published directly to the site in the case of Reactively Moderated discussions (Moderation explained).

Fully Moderated discussions

In the case of Fully Moderated discussions your comment will be checked by a Have Your Say moderator (Moderation explained).

Again, due to the volume of comments that we receive, we can't guarantee that all comments submitted will be published on the site, but we try our best to publish as many as we can.

We encourage you to register, to maximise your chances of seeing your comment published on the site, and to take advantage of other features, like being able to recommend other users' comments.
