Twenty staff from a Jersey bank will be using their DIY skills to renovate a number of areas at the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust. Standard Chartered employees are entitled to take two days out of the office to work on a local community initiative.
The staff at the bank are taking part in the Employee Volunteering Programme.
On Sunday and next Saturday they will be helping to renovate and restore areas of the zoo.
The group will be taking on 12 projects at Durrell, including renovating the bee hut, revamping the kestrel's aviary, and polishing the memorial of the Trust's founder Gerald Durrell.
Alison McFadyen, chief executive officer for the bank, says the programme enables them to build their partnership with Durrell and provides the staff with the opportunity to support the work of the trust.
