New boss for property department
States of Jersey
Cyril Le Marquand House is owned by the States
States-owned properties in Jersey have become the responsibility of the island's former chief housing officer.

Eric Le Ruez will be the director of the new States of Jersey Property Holdings Department, which was set up earlier this year.

It will oversee States-owned buildings such as Cyril Le Marquand House, Morier House and South Hill.

Mr Le Ruez will report directly to the new Treasury and Resources Minister under the new style of government.

His former role as the Chief Officer of Housing will be taken over by Ian Gallichan, who will become the Acting Director of Housing.

Senator Frank Walker, president of Policy and Resources, said the two new posts would help ensure the 1.6bn of assets owned by the States were managed efficiently and effectively.

Buildings which would be exempt are those run by the Harbours Department, plus the airport, telecoms buildings and homes for States tenants.
