Two candidates are standing for the role of Jersey's new Chief Minister. Senator Stuart Syvret and Senator Frank Walker have both been officially nominated for the post.
Both candidates will speak for 10 minutes and then be questioned individually by States members for up to 40 minutes on Monday.
The vote will then be taken, although its not yet know whether it will be in public. The BBC and Channel Television have applied for permission to film.
Senators Wendy Kinnard, Paul Le Claire, Senator-elect Ben Shenton, Constable Ken Le Brun and deputies Alan Breckon, Gerard Baudain and Judy Martin have nominated Mr Syvret.
Senator Walker's nomination list includes: senators Terry Le Sueur and Paul Routier, constables Dan Murphy and Ken Vibert and deputies Jackie Huet and Ben Fox.
The ballot for the post of leader of the States has previously been conducted in secret.
