Tenants needing one-bedroom flats
More people are waiting for a one-bedroom States rented home in Jersey than any other category.

There are 312 people, including existing tenants and those not already in a States home, who are hoping to move into a property with one bedroom.

The Housing Department says its greatest need is for one-bedroom ground floor flats or those near a lift to cater for elderly people.

People are also having to wait up to two years for a three-bedroom home.

There are currently 135 names on the housing list for that type of accommodation.
